Family Projects

Welcome to the
Family Project Creation Station!
A great place for ideas and the directions for each project!

September- All About Me

This month students will be assigned an 'All About Me' poster in which you, your child and members of your family can work together to complete. You can use any materials you want on the poster and anyone can help create it! Attached is the letter sent home about this project with directions. Have fun on the first project!

October- Elmer the Elephant

For October I am sending home a copy of the book Elmer the Patchwork Elephant by David McKee. Read this book with your child then together make your own Elmer! It can be a pirate Elmer, a ninja Elmer, a ballerina Elmer, a princess Elmer, a polka dot Elmer, anything you want it to be! Be creative and use your imagination! Then when finished complete the sentence under your Elmer telling what kind of Elmer he/she is!

November-Tom Turkey

Tom Turkey does not want to be eaten on Thanksgiving Day! Brainstorm together some fun ways to disguise him so the farmer can’t find him when it’s time for dinner. Be creative and use any materials you want.
Please return your completed project by Thursday, November 19th. As with all our family projects, the students will each take a turn sharing their project with the class. Below are some examples of last years projects.

December-

NO PROJECT! Enjoy the holidays and family time.

January- My Favorite Number

For our January Family Project, children will complete a project on their favorite number. I will send home a poster and they will have to complete all the parts. More information will be sent home.

February- Valentine Box

For February’s project, I would like for you and your child to create a valentine holder. The first thing you need to do is to decide what you want to use to hold the valentines. Some ideas are a basket, a covered shoebox or cereal box, or anything else you choose to use. The only guideline is that it must be able to stand up by itself on the table. That will make it easier when children are passing out their valentines.

March- Rainbow or Trap

For the March family project, you will have a choice. Students can choose whether to design a rainbow or create a leprechaun trap.

April/May- Timeline of My Life!

For our final family project this year, you and your child will be creating a timeline of their life. It can be on construction paper, it can be a book, a banner, or a poster it's up to you.
